Equipping schools to champion the voices of Black & Brown girls.

Historically, schools and other systems in the U.S. have overlooked the power and brilliance of Black & Brown girls, leaving them disproportionately vulnerable to educational inequities, juvenile justice involvement, mental health disparities & sex trafficking. Let's change that narrative together! Because when we intentionally create safer restorative spaces for Black & Brown girls, it shifts the climate/culture to benefit all young people!

Did you know?

Black girls make up 45% of confirmed minor sex trafficking cases, even though they make up 14% of the U.S. youth population.

In addition, 55% of youth report still attending school while being trafficked!
(Thorn, 2018)

Black girls are 6x more likely to be expelled, 3x more likely to be suspended, and 4x more likely to be arrested than white girls.
(Civil Rights Data Collection, 2018)

In LA county, 92% of girls involved in the JJ system & who were sex trafficking survivors were Black.

In addition, 80% of justice-involved girls have mental health diagnoses.

Black & Brown girls deserve better! We can help.

We get it, there just aren't enough hours in the day.

With the right training and coaching for your community, your school/organization can be a part of creating safe, restorative, and equitable pathways for girls of color.

"Dr. Nina Walker is a remarkable coach who brings a critical understanding of the ways that girls of color are marginalized in our education and social systems. She is both consistent and clear in her approach to ensuring that their experiences and voices are centered and used to support their success- and she is adept at developing that same skill in others!"
